Foxes Bar
Hi I’m Steve Fox, nephew to the late John Botrill (the first original Dexy’s drummer). I started working in music when the 2002 world cup was on and I wrote my first lyrics.
In 2003 I went looking for a band to work with me on my idea and I approached Barry Ratcliffe who had a website for 1000's of bands in the UK. We teamed up with The Hampton’s, along with some solo musicians and so we put together a band called 4-4-2. My new song was called ‘Come on England!’, a 21st century version of the Dexy’s classic ‘Come on Eileen’. The demo was recorded under a railway arch in Bermondsey and attracted the attention of London label Gut records.
Re-recorded in the Black country (home of Dexy’s) in April 2004, it was quickly adopted by TalkSPORT as their Euro 2004 signature tune. Add a couple of page 3 girls, support from the Sun…and the rest is history…….
up the charts we went!

Now i'm working on two new England songs for the world cup 2010 (If England get there that is). Foxyfoxrecords is starting to grow and i will be taking on more bands as manager in the near future, to help me with this is my new assistant manager (Laurence Griffin) who will work in the Birmingham area. He has been a drumer in unsigned bands for many years and he has a great understanding of music which is what we need to get the best sound out of a band.
